NATIONAL RETAIL SYSTEMS (NRS) JOINS U.S. EPA SMARTWAY TRANSPORT® PARTNERSHIP
Secaucus, NJ (Apr. 14, 2008) – National Retail Systems Inc. (NRS), a leading provider of logistics services to America’s retailers, has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership formed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
“Our customers are focused on providing the best products to the American consumer at affordable prices and in the most environmentally-sensitive way possible,” said Francis Walsh III, Executive Vice President of NRS. “We support their efforts in every way.”
The EPA recognized NRS for environmental performance above the industry standard, utilizing many of the most current fuel saving strategies and efficiencies.
The SmartWay program is a collaborative program between the EPA and the freight industry designed to increase energy efficiency while significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. It aims to achieve fuel savings of up to 150 million barrels of fuel per year.
The Partnership currently has over 450 Partners.
