NATIONAL RETAIL SYSTEMS (NRS) STATEMENT ON SPONSORSHIP
OF 12TH ANNUAL NEWPORT-LIBERTY WATERFRONT RUN
NRS Is Lead Sponsor of Half-Marathon on Sept. 25, 2005, To Benefit Children's Hospital
of Hudson County at Jersey City Medical Center-Wilzig Hospital
Secaucus, NJ, Sept., 21, 2005 - National Retail Systems Inc. (NRS), the leading provider of retail logistics services in North America, has issued the following statement regarding its sponsorship of the 12th annual Newport-Liberty Waterfront Run. The half-marathon, run through Jersey City, Newport and surrounding communities, is the premier race in New Jersey and a key warm-up to the New York Marathon for leading runners in the tri-state area. It also is an important fund-raiser for the Children's Hospital of Hudson County at Jersey City Medical Center-Wilzig Hospital.
"Our involvement in the Liberty Waterfront Run is particularly rewarding for NRS and our employees," said Raymond Wisniewski, NRS President. "The roots or our company and many of our families are in Jersey City and the greater New York area. We are proud of our ongoing relationship with Jersey City Medical Center and happy that we can continue to give back to our great community."
Many NRS employees will participate in the half-marathon or in the 5K run taking place Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. The half marathon begins at 8:30 am at Newport-on-the-Waterfront in Jersey City. Larry Ravinett, Senior Vice President of Logistics and Supply Chain Solutions for NRS, will present awards to the top finishers.
To further support the run, NRS has specially painted one of its trailers with the Waterfront Run logo and the Jersey City Medical website address, www.libertyhealth.org. The "Liberty" trailer travels across the country during the year in service and arrives at the race each September.
